Love the message on this shirt!

So does she!

A nice little painting created as a present for Mr. Hamer.  Thank you so much!

Tuesday was choir day for Mr. Hamer.

We prepared the choir for our Thanksgiving mass to be held next week.

Remember this golden oldie!

Choir is so much fun.

Love the turkey math!

Playtime at the carpet.

Students hard at work.

Completing another Thanksgiving class book.

Nice art work.

Hard at work.

A fab foursome!

Artsy photo!

Peace to all!

School is fun!

You bet it is!

Day 24 - Wednesday, Oct.9

On Wednesday morning Mr. Hamer was asked to cover a Kindergarten class.

So, Mr. Hamer asked Mme Pepe to send him four of our pupils to help out.

And...a great help they were!

Making heart shapes.

From Play Doh.

Beautiful!

Mr. Hamer also brought his guitar over to the Kindergarten class.

With eager students willing to sing.

Yes, a Kinder class is a colourful class.

With colourful students.

Buddy time.

Play time.

Too much fun!

Following morning recess, we made our way to the gym.

Where we practised ball skills.

We learned how to pass the soccer ball back and forth as we ran down the court in gym.

Looking good!

Another pairing starts their way up the court.

Looking good again!

Then, it was time for some game action.

A posed shot.

Lots of calories being burned.

Intense focus.

Go get that ball.

We take shifts so that half the class plays...

...while half the class watches.

Two minute shifts keep them alert.

Oops...a little nose bleed.  But she's a real trooper!

Gym class is the hit of the week.

In the afternoon, we were scheduled to meet another kinder class.

The children were eager to sing the songs we've learned.

The little kinders caught on real quick.

A dynamic duo!

Smile for the camera!

And...smile we do!

We enjoyed a fun walk back to the portapack.

With many a detour along the way.

The weather was fine.

The class really enjoyed themselves.
Tune in tomorrow evening to see what we did on Thursday and Friday. We enjoyed some chrome book fun!  Have a marvelous evening everyone! Mr. Hamer OCT

Day 25 - Thursday, Oct.11

Thursday of this week found the students enjoying some time on the chrome books.

We have a new program called Zorbits Math.

The program engages the children across all five strands of the math curriculum.

We are learning how to navigate around the site.

I would advise all students to bring in their own set of headphones or earbuds.
This will allow them to work on the chrome books without distracting their peers.

The children are assigned a chrome book.  Seeing as we have ten in total in the class, they have to buddy up when the entire class is involved in an activity.

Alas, the children enjoy the sharing experience.

Here is a geometry program.

While learning how to take turns, the children learn the value of patience as well.

She is having a grand time!

One boy takes a turn...

...then the other.

 Likewise here.

Something the boys are doing has caught the attention of our young lady to the right.

A happy camper!

This is fun!

The problems presented can be challenging.

But these girls are up to the task!

Some more geometry.

Rapt attention.

The carpet area...

...is a happy place!

More math.

And more still.

Nothing these lads can't handle.

Now, her program has gathered the attention of one of the lads next to her!

Time to stretch.

And reach for the stars.

Or...the ceiling anyway!

That feels good!

Fun too!

"I love my work," she smiles.

"I love my snack!" she exclaims.

"Me too!"

"Me three!"

"Want one, Mr. Hamer?"

Looks yummy!

We always eat our snack before we go outdoors for recess.

This allows us to come in right away off the playground...

...and get down to our work as quick as we can.  No time wasted!

Healthy snacks.

And fun ones too!

Make for smiles galore!

This little girl...

...has brought in her own device.

Nice looking printing.

Great graph interpreting.

We learned about autumn in Canada.

And...we followed that up with a fun activity.

More graphing.

Our class book about Giving Thanks.

As brainstormed by the group.

Then printed on the SmartBoard.

Where the children could select a response for their page.

Our Gospel Value focus this month is on the "Dignity of the Person."
Our class has already contributed three items to the Gospel Wall in the hallway of the school and we are proud of our contributions.
Check in later over the weekend to see what we did on Friday in school.
Have a safe and satisfying weekend everyone!  Mr. Hamer OCT

Day 26 - Friday, Oct.12

Friday morning before the children arrive in class.

Mme Pepe has got her bag on the chair and is prepared for French class, the first class of the day for our pupils each and every day.

We love our Dignity sign.
Each student signed their name on one of the letters.

Because...the theme for our Gospel Wall is "Dignity of the Person."

So far, our class has contributed the sign, their orange shirts from our "Orange Day" when we thought about our aboriginal friends who are residential school survivors adn our hot air balloon.

Indeed, we have dignity for each and every one of us.
All the pictures in the hot air balloon are of our little friends in Grade Two from our class.

A close-up of some of our orange shirts.

What a strong message they send!

Oh boy!...or should I say...Oh Girl!
She's lost a tooth...but the real question is...has the tooth fairy come yet?  (Big smile)

In science class we've been learning about air.

We have learned that air takes up space.

We know that we can feel air, both in its affect when it breezes by us and in its temperature.

We know that we can see how air moves things...a flag flapping in the wind, leaves blowing off trees and clouds in the big blue sky...to name a few examples.

Science is fun!

These two are practising to be teachers.

Right at Mr. Hamer's desk.

You'll make great teachers one day, girls!
In fact we are all teachers and learners each and everyday when we share our knowledge and skills with each other.

As mentioned in an earlier posting, Zorbits math teaches us about all the five strands of math.

Computer fun.

Yes, it is fall.

We like to work together.

We like to share.

The chrome books help us learn more about so many things.

"I love going on my chrome book!" he smiles.

Working in groups.

Sharing materials.

Supporting friends.

Taking care with our work.  The correct use of a ruler for drawing straight lines is a learned skill and challenging to many.  This young lad has got the strategy down pat!

Math fun.

Friend fun!

The good old finger method comes in handy for smaller addition problems.

Bernie is helping her colour.

Role playing is good for the soul.

Check in next week when we look at all 18 student contributions to another class book we published on the theme of giving thanks to our Creator.
Have a wonderful Sunday and we'll see you tomorrow!  Mr. Hamer OCT
