Week Forty of School

Day 182 - Monday, June 24

Mr. Hamer published each student's "Memory Book" for Grade Two.

The books contain all of the class books we have completed throughout the year.

Over 70 pages in total!

Quite the accomplishment.

Sunday morning...

...found some of our students...

....parents too...

...in Mr. Hamer's home.

The children were given the opportunity to...

...learn about different types of trains...

...and freight cars.

We learned the difference between urban and rural places...

...while running the trains through the city and into the countryside.

It sure was fun hosting so many of our pupils...

...and their grandparents...

...and their siblings as well.

Let's check out some of the urban scenery the children drove the trains through.

The big city...

...with its tall buildings.

Let's check out the rural scenery.

With the river crossings.

And the verdant landscape.  Thanks to all of our families who were able to make it out to Mr. Hamer's home.  It was a thrill sharing my hobby with you!
Have a great evening everyone!  Mr. Hamer OCT

Day 183 - Tuesday, June 25

What an exciting day at St. Bernard!

Grad time!

Indeed, congrats!

Lovely setup.

A super class.

Such class.

Of course.

They will remember this day...

...for the rest...

...of their lives!

Looking good!

Neat-o!

Yes...you did it!

Here we go!

Hey...the handsome Mr. Papineau!

They're on their way!

All decked up and ready for their future!

Back in class, we have some grade five students with us...

...so their French teacher can attend the grad as she also teaches French to the Grade Six pupils.

Two for the road.

Cool shirts!

Lots of fun activities!

Say cheese.

Today found us with three days of school remaining.

Our zone class sends us a lovely message.
We will miss this wonderful class from our school.

New exit signs went up in the school today.

Part of the cupcake grad cake!

Ready for the splash pad.

On the way to the park...

...we found this interesting specimen...

...to act as a great backdrop...

...for a fun picture!

Towels are spread out.

The water is flowing.

We're ready to rumble!

A happy girl.

Another happy girl.

Still another!

A colourful park.

Smile for the camera.

And...they do!

Swinging in the breeze!

Boy fun!

Say cheese again!

Acrobatic.

Splish Splash they were taking a bath!

My lovely Grade Two colleagues!
Enjoy a great evening everyone!  Mr. Hamer OCT

Day 184 - Wednesday, June 26

Time to take the "Grade Two Memory Books" home.

Mr. Hamer coloured the cover for each student as a gift.

Cool kid back from the Splash Pad.

Indeed...

...there were lots of...

...great memories...

...from this school year.

Each of the books is compiled of...

...pages showcasing...

...a whole host of...

...events and activities...

...which took place...

...this school year.

Mr. Hamer still hears from students...

...in high school...

...who come back to St. Bernard...

...for a visit.

They may be in grade 10 or 11...

...and they tell Mr. Hamer...

...that they still have their...

...memory book in their home...

...and that they still enjoy...

...looking through the pages...

...and reading about...

...all of the fun things...

...they experienced...

...when they were back in elementary school...

...in Mr. Hamer's class.

Today we held the...

...Grade One and Two...

...Talent Show...

...in the learning commons...

...with many colourful...

...and creative...

...entertainers!

Students from our class...

...participated...

...and they had so much fun...

...performing dances...

...or even singing...

...in front of a great big...

...audience...

...of their peers!

So creative!

At the end we watched one more performance from a young girl from Mrs. Eaton's class who was absent on this day.

But...no fear...Mrs. Eaton had already recorded her singing her song.

Some more pics...

...from our visit...

...to the Splash Pad.

So much fun...

...was had by all.

Lots of smiles...

...and cool gestures!

Wait for it!

Wait for it!

Aha!  Wrong bucket!  Hehehe!
Check in tomorrow when you will see the right one!
Have a lovely evening!  Mr. Hamer OCT

Day 185 - Thursday, June 27

We left off here yesterday!

Remember the wrong bucket?

Well...here's the correct one!  Big grin!

She got a kick out of it!

What a great little splash pad!

It offers so much for the children.

Our school combined with the others in the neighbourhood...

...and we all pitched in with some of the cost.

These kids sure are glad we did!

Little actors for sure!

Love the smile.

Time for popsicles!

Yummy.

Eager eaters!

Girl power!

With a boy mixed in!

Too much fun!

Meanwhile...

...over in the tennis court.

Where the sun heats things up.

The children are all organized...

...with their particular spots!

While some take advantage of the shade.

Or a swing!

Or a teeter totter.

More water fun.

Indeed.

Express...

...yourself...

...and we do...

...every day!

Yesterday's rehearsal...

...for today's talent show...

for the students from...

...Grade Three to Six.

Time to test out the mics.

Time to rehearse getting on and off the stage.

Time to determine proper placements.

We're ready...

...we're set...

...and...we're ready to go!
Check in later on for pics from the last day of school when we held our big talent show.
Mr. Hamer is off for a swim and will post later on this evening.
Have a great evening and summer holiday everyone!  Mr. Hamer OCT

Back from swimming!  Here we are today in the gym...

...for our annual "Talent Show!"

Superb athletes...

...and musicians...

...showing courage...

...to perform...

...in front of...

...over 500 people!

They came prepared...

...with enthusiasm.

No fear either!

Sometime alone...

...on the stage.

Sometimes...

...in pairs.

A variety of instruments...

...offering a variety of sounds.

Creative dances...

...with creative moves.

True bravery...

...in solving a Rubic's Cube in under 90 seconds!

Quite the crowd for an audience.

They performed...

...with class...

...and with flair...

...in lovely costumes...

...cool outfits...

...accomplished musicians...

...team dance...

...great choreography...

...singing in a second language...

...which our French teachers loved...

...hitting the keys...

...with a big smile...

...one sings...

...while one dances...

...creative moves...

...great communication...

...still more keys...

...without looking down...

...the moondance...

...which brought a lot of cheers...

...did we mention great choreography?

Yes we did...

...and they were great!

So...check in tomorrow for our final blog entry of the school year!
Have a great evening!  Mr. Hamer OCT

The class sure looks different...

...without all of the students.
