As Mr. Hamer was in charge of the whole school Advent assembly, his students were placed in four separate classes to head over to the gym and return.  Mr. Hamer had to be in the gym for set-up and take-down, so he is most appreciative of the four teachers for taking care of his students while he was occupied in the big school.

Our classroom Christmas Tree.

All a-sparkle!

Day 64 - Thursday, Dec. 6

Indeed, December 6th is the Feast of St. Nicholas.  When he was a young boy, both of his parents died.  They were wealthy and Nicholas inherited the wealth.  Rather than spend on himself, he sought out the poor and down-trodden and shared his wealth with them.  This compassionate man is known as the Patron Saint of Children.

Speaking of children...

...we do have fun in class.

Even though we work very hard.

On Thursday, it was time to enjoy gym in the great outdoors.

That meant sliding...

...with the crazy carpets.

They are excited...

...and can't wait to get started.

So, over to the hill across the street we headed.

Going down is fun.

It's a breeze!

Hi mom!

Coming back up is a little harder.

But we do get our exercise.

Day 65 - Friday, Dec. 7

He's well equipped for the occasion.

Our kinders on on the train right now.

The Polar Express is a long train!

Some adults are let on board.

They are excited.

Mme Latou is in on the action as well.

What are they carrying?

Mr. conductor knows.

So does Mr. Best.

It's their round trip ticket on the Polar Express.

Thank you to those who sent in donations of non-perishable food this past week.

This coming week we are asking for warm clothing for the needy...hats, scarves, mitts, gloves and socks.  Thank you in advance!

This little elf got a cool looking surprise in his lunchbag on Friday.

Love it!

More bell practise.

With groups assigned to specific colours.

Happy campers.

Each colour plays a different note.

We have three students assigned to each bell.

Lots of excitement.

Lots of fun.

We can't wait to put on our show!

The Christmas concert and play will be this coming Thursday.

It begins at 11:00 AM so get to school early moms and dads!

On Friday afternoon we had a special visitor.

This little girl in Mrs. Akkawi's class plays the cello.

Her mom plays violin.

They put on a great workshop for out two classes.

She's a pro already!

Lots of fun!

Concentration.

An attentive audience.

Thanks so much to these two wonderful ladies for giving us a great presentation!
Have a wonderful week next week everyone!  Mr. Hamer OCT
